Red Man Plug tobacco is another form of whole leaf chewing tobacco and is made by the Pinkerton Tobacco company. While Red Man’s version of Plug chew is relatively new in the chewing tobacco world, the Plug form of chewing tobacco is much older! Plug chewing tobacco has been around since the late 1800’s in America and was born out of necessity. Before plug tobacco, most chewing tobacco came in the loose leaf form which was packaged in either wax coated paper boxes or in small pouches. While this was the best method to package it at the time, it really wasn’t the most user friendly. |
